The Furies

Overview

Waterloo is introducing a semi-pro men's hockey team, which forces the amateur women's leagues out of the arena. In retaliation for their lost ice time, a hot-headed hockey player teams up with a fierce octogenarian, a former derby champion, to create an underground roller derby squad made up of the city's overlooked women. With support from the Women's Club, they aim to show that women's sports can captivate audiences and that solidarity among women is the strongest form of defiance.
