Overview

Thirteen-year-old Sam Gribley, inspired by Thoreau’s philosophies, opts to abandon urban life for a summer in the Canadian wilderness. Yearning for independence and adventure, he sets out to prove his ability to survive alone after his parents’ promised trip falls through.
