Overview

During World War II, American troops establish bases across Great Britain, leading to tension between the locals and the boisterous GIs, particularly as they vie for the attention of isolated British women. Amidst this backdrop, a complicated romance blossoms between Army Captain John, who is married, and Helen, an aristocrat whose naval husband is serving overseas.
