As he evades the police, his wish to abandon his artistic pursuits clashes with the encouragement of fellow artists like Maurice Utrillo and Chaim Soutine, along with his muse, Beatrice Hastings. Seeking guidance from his art dealer and confidant, Leopold Zborowski, Modi spirals into a night filled with vivid hallucinations.
