Overview

Jesse Aarons spends his summer preparing to be the top runner at school, only to be frustrated when new girl Leslie Burke beats him and his classmates. Despite their contrasting backgrounds—Leslie’s wealth and city upbringing versus Jesse’s modest, rural roots—they quickly develop a strong friendship. They invent the magical realm of Terabithia, a fantastical place filled with creatures like trolls and giants, where they reign as king and queen, escaping the struggles of their everyday lives.
