Alley Cat (2017)

Overview

A downcast former boxer, played by Yosuke Kubozuka, attempts to cope with his past injuries through self-medication. His spirits lift when he discovers a stray cat, only for it to be taken by a quirky mechanic, portrayed by Kenji Furuya. Dubbed Maru and Lily, the unlikely duo soon finds themselves embroiled in a political scandal involving Saeko (Yui Ichikawa) and her son. As they confront further societal injustices perpetrated by the elite, their journey becomes one of redemption, or at least the pursuit of peaceful cat companionship.
