Overview

A catastrophic explosion at a mine straddling the French-German border traps a group of French miners underground. Determined to help, German miners Wittkopp and Kasper brave a decaying war tunnel to reach the victims. Despite the workers' camaraderie transcending national divides, their intolerant superiors seek to obstruct this daring rescue.
