Overview

Set against the backdrop of the Depression-era South, a young boy in a resilient black sharecropping family faces the harsh realities of life when his father is incarcerated for theft, driven by desperation to provide for his loved ones. As the oldest son, he grapples with the weight of responsibility while striving to maintain his family's unity and dignity.
