Overview

Mathias Gold, a struggling New Yorker, unexpectedly inherits a grand apartment in Paris from his estranged father. Eager to sell it for much-needed cash, he arrives only to find a stubborn tenant, the spirited Mathilde Girard, still residing there with her daughter Chloé. Unbeknownst to Mathias, the apartment operates under a viager system, which entitles Mathilde to monthly payments for life.
