After a cricket ball strikes Tom on the head, he wakes up in the dreary children's ward of St Hugo's Hospital, greeted by an intimidating porter and a cruel matron. Initially overwhelmed by the bleak environment, Tom quickly discovers that this place is brimming with unexpected adventures.
