Overview

Years after leaving his hometown, Joel returns to place his mother, Monika, in an elderly care facility due to her dementia. Shortly after her arrival, her condition worsens, leading to horrifying visions of her deceased husband, Joel's abusive father, and increasingly violent behavior. Convinced that a dark, supernatural force is influencing Monika, Joel grapples with his own troubled past, including substance abuse and mental health struggles. As his mother's memories slip away, Joel must confront the haunting memories of his childhood and the true nature of his perceptions.
