Overview

Set against the backdrop of a British bomber base during the early days of the Battle of Britain, the story follows Pilot Officer Peter Penrose as he transitions from training to frontline duty. Amidst the chaos of war, he develops feelings for Iris, a young woman at a nearby hotel. However, his romantic dreams shatter when tragedy strikes, leaving the squadron commander dead and his wife, the hotel manageress, to raise their son alone.
