Overview

Mani, a master’s student, returns to her northern Quebec reserve, confronting her troubled past. Eager to reconnect with her community, she dives into a contentious referendum on legalizing alcohol sales. Amidst this turmoil, Laura runs an illicit operation, benefiting from the protection of the band council and her partner, Raymond, who harbors resentment towards Mani, blaming her for his daughter's tragic death in a fire. As tensions rise, the community splits into factions, each vying for their vision of autonomy and the future they desire.
