Overview

Set during a transformative summer, the narrative follows 16-year-old Mark Berman, the son of Russian-Jewish immigrants in suburban Toronto. When his uncle's arranged marriage brings Natasha, a troubled 14-year-old from Moscow, into their lives, Mark is reluctantly assigned to look after her. As he uncovers Natasha's tumultuous past, a secret romance ignites between them, leading to unexpected and tragic repercussions for both their families.
