Overview

Set in 1860 Japan, the Mito clan members, reeling from the devastating Ansei purge, gather with grim determination near the Sakurada Gate of Edo Castle. Their target is Naosuke Ii of Hikone, the tairō of the Tokugawa shogunate, whom they hold accountable for their suffering. As tensions rise, the plot thickens with themes of loyalty, vengeance, and the struggle against oppressive power, driving these men toward a fateful confrontation that could change the course of their lives and the future of their clan.
