Overview

In the year 1575, young soldier Miguel de Cervantes faces peril when he is seized by Barbary pirates during a naval confrontation and transported to Algiers as a prisoner. With the shadow of a grim fate looming over him unless his family can secure his ransom quickly, he seeks solace in his love for storytelling, weaving tales to escape the harsh reality of his captivity.
