Overview

In 1942, a British cargo vessel evacuating from Singapore meets its fate at the hands of a Japanese submarine. Survivors aboard a lifeboat include a striking woman, an army officer, a prejudiced administrator, and a black seaman who harbors a secret about the woman’s true identity as a nun.
