Wisconsin's Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is determined to safeguard Lake Superior for future generations. "Bad River" chronicles their enduring activism and resistance amid ongoing legal disputes with Enbridge Energy regarding the contentious Line 5 oil pipeline. Operating for over a decade on 12 miles of tribal land, the pipeline's easements have long expired, igniting a fierce battle for justice. Since 2019, the Band has been engaged in a protracted legal struggle against the Canadian company, highlighting the intersection of environmental protection and Indigenous rights.
