Overview

In a post-Korean War village, Heo Sam-gwan, a kind-hearted man of humble means, is determined to win the heart of the village beauty, Heo Ok-ran. To prove his love, he sells his blood to gather the funds necessary for his courtship. Fast forward several years, the couple enjoys a joyful life with three children. However, their happiness is shattered when whispers arise regarding the paternity of their eldest son, who bears no resemblance to Sam-gwan, forcing the family to confront painful truths and societal pressures.
