Red Hook Summer

Overview

Flik arrives at the Red Hook housing project in Brooklyn for a summer with his estranged grandfather, Enoch, a fiery preacher. Coming from a comfortable life in Atlanta, he feels out of place and isolated. Enoch's strict religious expectations add to his discomfort, leaving him yearning for connection. The spirited Chazz, a local girl from church, offers a welcome distraction from his boredom. As the summer heat intensifies, Enoch’s dramatic sermons become the backdrop for a whirlwind of clashing desires and revelations, transforming Flik’s mundane summer into a life-altering experience.
