Overview

In the aftermath of the Civil War, Laurel Sommersby struggles to keep their farm afloat in the absence of her husband, presumed dead in battle. When Jack Sommersby unexpectedly returns, Laurel feels a whirlwind of conflicting emotions; the man she once knew was far from amiable.
