Overview

Leonora, a naive young woman from a humble background, finds herself trapped in a turbulent marriage to the wealthy and possessive Ohlrig. His violent outbursts make her life unbearable, prompting her to flee and start anew as an assistant to Dr. Larry Quinada in New York City.
