Overview

In 1944, as American forces invade Saipan, Captain Oba Sakae defies orders and refuses to die with dignity or enter POW camps. Instead, he leads a band of loyal soldiers and local civilians into the mountains, determined to resist. Despite news of Japan's surrender, Oba sees it as mere propaganda, continuing his guerrilla warfare against the Americans. His cunning tactics earn him the moniker "The Fox." Remarkably, even the American commander tasked with capturing him grows to respect Oba's unwavering spirit and resilience in the face of overwhelming odds.
