Macunaima

Overview

Macunaíma emerges as a fully formed black man in a remote Brazilian jungle, only to undergo a magical transformation into a white man. His journey takes him to São Paulo, where he adopts a flamboyant lifestyle and falls for Ci, a passionate revolutionary who tragically loses her life in an accidental explosion. After pulling off a heist against a corrupt industrialist, Macunaíma returns to his village, only to discover that the wisdom and wealth he gained are of little value in his original home.
