Overview

Set against a gritty quayside backdrop of desperation and vice, a beggar steals a dazzling pearl necklace, igniting a perilous chain of events. A prostitute witnesses the theft and convinces her jobless friend to reclaim the necklace, leading to devastating repercussions. The plot unfolds through a series of flashbacks, presenting a raw and unvarnished view of life’s harsh realities, devoid of irony or hope for redemption. The characters navigate their bleak existence, illustrating how the cycle of poverty and crime perpetuates, as they struggle to survive in a world that offers little solace.
