Overview

Francis Ashby, a distinguished Oxford scholar, seeks solitude in the Alps but finds himself captivated by the dynamic duo of American Caroline and her spirited adopted daughter Elinor. Their enchanting holiday companionship leaves a lasting impression, especially on Elinor, who feels a growing connection with him. However, Francis is surprised when the pair unexpectedly visits him at Oxford, where college rules prohibit women from entering the grounds or his rooms.
