Overview

Ambitious civil servant Jussi is tasked with overseeing the environmental permit for the expansive Talvivaara nickel and uranium mine in Northern Finland, spearheaded by the charismatic Pekka Perä. Initially drawn in by promises of innovation and job creation in a struggling region, Jussi soon realizes he has been misled. The new mineral extraction method poses significant environmental risks that are being downplayed. When another permit application arrives alongside an enticing job offer, Jussi is faced with a moral dilemma, forcing him to choose between complicity and integrity amid growing corruption.
