Cabaret (1986)

Overview

A young jazz saxophonist seeks to make his mark in the music scene but finds himself entangled with organized crime in Haruki Kadokawa's gripping thriller. After landing a gig at a popular nightclub, he catches the attention of a Yakuza thug who becomes inexplicably drawn to him, largely due to the musician's talent for playing a cherished tune. However, as their lives become increasingly intertwined, tragedy strikes when the saxophonist's girlfriend is assaulted.
