In a town divided by race, two separate proms have long been the norm—one for white students and another for black students. When Brianna McCallister proposes merging the events for financial benefits and unity, her suggestion ignites controversy. The situation escalates after a white student receives leniency for an infraction that resulted in suspension for a black student.
