Like an Island

Overview

Two watchmen find themselves assigned to oversee access to a river in a Lausanne neighborhood populated by retirees and immigrant families, under enigmatic circumstances. As they interact with the diverse individuals in the area, a sense of community begins to emerge, and an unexpected friendship develops. Tizian Büchi crafts a fable that blends documentary elements with fiction and infuses it with magical realism, gently probing the implications of our surveillance-driven society.
