Episode Overview
Barry confides in Kate that Geoff has warned him to stay away from her, which upsets her. In response, she invites him to dinner, and he eagerly accepts. Later, Vic hands Barry his bill, but Barry can't cover it. When Vic checks with Geoff, he quickly steps in to pay. That evening, Barry takes Kate for a ride in "the Beast," intending to discuss Geoff. When they stop, he tries to persuade her to join him at Surfer's, but when she declines, he attempts to kiss her. She fights him off, leading to a reckless drive back to town that terrifies her. Barry then tells Marty he no longer wants to buy "the Beast," leaving the garage stuck with it. Geoff learns about this and buys the car to protect Emma from losing money. At the pub later, no one wants to sit with Barry, and when Geoff arrives, Barry starts provoking him. They eventually head outside for a real fistfight.
