Episode Overview

Mary pressures Matt into persuading his friend Brian (guest-star Jason Behr) to ask her out, despite his disinterest. During their date, sparks fly, but the evening takes a turn for the worse when Mary uncovers the truth. Meanwhile, Lucy is invited to a sleepover by a group of popular girls, oblivious to their ulterior motives. Additionally, Simon takes it upon himself to teach Ruthie how to swim, bypassing formal lessons. Meanwhile, Eric becomes increasingly paranoid about his weight, convinced he’s cleverly sidestepping his diet.
