The show follows Shoeshine Boy, who transforms into the heroic Underdog whenever his beloved Sweet Polly Purebred faces danger from villains like Simon Bar Sinister and Riff Raff. Notably, Underdog charms viewers with his signature rhyming couplets, declaring, "There's no need to fear, Underdog is here!" Its legacy continued in syndication until 1973.
