Episode Overview

Makina rescues a group of students from a Corpse, including a girl named Kasuka, or Omune-sama, who quickly becomes captivated by Makina's allure tied to death. Meanwhile, Ouri tries to uncover what happened to Minai, but finds no answers. Intrigued by Ouri's lack of sensitivity toward death, Makina asks Keisei about his compassion for the Shikabane. Keisei shares a memory of Ouri's early days at the orphanage when he was a detached three-year-old. His perspective shifts after he saves a kitten from a river, only for it to tragically die in an accident. This experience leaves Ouri acutely aware of mortality. Later, Kasuka confronts Makina, criticizing Ouri and claiming he could never understand her like she does. In response, Makina defends Ouri, asserting that he comprehends her connection to death far better than Kasuka ever could.
