Episode Overview

When Alex gets his dream job in New York, the entire family celebrates—except for Elyse. As Steven helps Andy prepare for his school play about dental hygiene, Alex bursts into the kitchen, singing “New York, New York” and announcing his new position at a top Wall Street firm. The family is overjoyed, but Elyse is caught off guard by the news that Alex needs to leave right away. As the family rallies to help him pack, Elyse grows frustrated when she discovers he’s taken a family photo without asking, creating an awkward rift between them. During the packing process, Alex engages in playful banter with Jennifer, takes fashion advice from Mallory, gets fatherly wisdom from Steven, and shares heartfelt farewells with Nick, Skippy, and Lauren, all while Elyse distances herself from him.
