Shortly after, he allegedly plots to take out Morantz and ends up receiving a five-year probation sentence. Struggling with alcoholism and a mental health diagnosis, Chuck loses everything and passes away in a nursing home, leaving a complicated legacy as a brilliant yet unrestrained talent. Meanwhile, many former followers are left to rebuild their lives after Synanon's collapse.
