Episode Overview
Title: A Whale of a Day Plot: As May diligently trains her Beautifly for an upcoming Pokémon Contest, Max contemplates which Pokémon he will choose when he’s old enough. During her preparations, May stumbles upon a stranded Wailord and quickly reaches out to Nurse Joy for assistance. Joy and Brock hurry over to provide help, leaving Ash and Max to manage the Pokémon Center in their absence. Meanwhile, Team Rocket plots to capture the Wailord. Inside the Center, Ash, Max, and their Pokémon struggle with a mischievous Torchic that evolves into a Combusken, complicating matters just as a new Trainer arrives to select their first Pokémon. Combusken ultimately thwarts Team Rocket's theft attempt, sending them flying. The new Trainer opts for Mudkip, and Combusken is invited to help guard the Pokémon Center.
