Episode Overview
Guy decides to hop back on a bike to see just how far he can ride in 24 hours of continuous pedaling. With the expertise of cycling innovators Miles Kingsbury and Mike Burrows, the creator of Chris Boardman's gold medal-winning Lotus bike from the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, he constructs a groundbreaking tandem bike and teams up with endurance specialist Jason Miles. Together, they push their limits at the Extreme Environments Laboratory in Portsmouth. As they prepare for their record attempt at the iconic Goodwood Motor Circuit, Guy learns about athletic nutrition from Team Sky’s Head of Nutrition, Nigel Mitchell, who advises him to shed five kilos and adopt a new diet. He also figures out efficient ways to relieve himself during the ride to save precious time. Just as they gear up for the attempt, they receive alarming news of Hurricane Bertha approaching.
