Meanwhile, Richard publishes a damaging article about working conditions at Falcon Crest, prompting Chase to pledge improved wages, benefits, and revisions to local labor laws. Although Lance agrees to accompany Melissa to childbirth classes, he chooses to spend time with his ex-girlfriend, Lori Stevens, leaving Melissa feeling insecure about Katherine's allure. As Cole and Katherine's professional bond evolves into romance, Richard confides in his journalist, Blair, about his desire to see Cole face conviction.
