As Emma thrives in her romantic life, Angela faces mounting obstacles, including defiance from Lance and Chase's aggressive takeover of her distributors. After Angela's bribery attempt with Dwayne to separate him from her daughter fails, she reluctantly agrees to support their marriage if he sells his trucking business. Emma impressively manages her mother's demands. In a bid to undermine Chase, Angela resorts to blackmailing the local agriculture inspector to quarantine Chase's vineyards. Reardon insists Angela follow through on her commitment to assist his political ambitions. Meanwhile, Lance reveals the true side of Walker McDowell to Apollonia, and Richard leaves Cassandra, who is expecting, as Robin prepares to give birth.
