Episode Overview

When HMAS Hammersley responds to a distress signal from Bright Island, Captain Mike Flynn and his crew come across a young woman paralyzed on the shore. Though she is awake, she cannot speak, and despite their attempts to help her, they are unable to save her. This marks the first day for new Executive Officer Lieutenant Kate McGregor on the patrol boat, while Mike becomes increasingly consumed by the enigma surrounding Bright Island. The Federal Police arrive to probe the woman's death, but silence surrounds the case. Doctor Ursula Morrell, her captivating beauty mixed with an air of mystery, seems to hold secrets that intrigue Mike.
