On Christmas Eve, Malloy and Reed find themselves on patrol, discussing the idea of using their squad car to bring a Christmas tree to the residents of an impending retirement home closure. At the same time, the sound of an elderly man playing bagpipes is deemed bothersome, while two teenagers hijack a delivery truck loaded with radioactive materials. Additionally, a jittery man is frantic to mask the scent of perfume on his clothes, and a robbery suspect appears determined to provoke a deadly confrontation with the police.
