Valerie and Noah are less than thrilled when David's song starts getting airplay on the radio. They share their frustration about the time David and Donna are spending together. Meanwhile, David and Donna hide their plans and head out for a shopping trip. Unfortunately, they end up in a car accident, resulting in Donna hurting her back and turning to painkillers for relief. Val urges Noah to reconnect with his estranged half-brother, Josh. Both Valerie and Noah grow increasingly paranoid, suspecting infidelity, leading to feelings of depression.
