Overview
Jerri Blank, a 46-year-old former prostitute and drug addict, unexpectedly re-enrolls as a freshman at Flatpoint High. After a troubled youth filled with crime and substance abuse, she seeks redemption and a fresh start. At home, her comatose father Guy exhibits surprising abilities, while her stepmother Sara is shallow and resentful, and her stepbrother Derrick is a typical jock bully. Jerri's attempts to navigate high school life often backfire, leading to humorous misadventures that frequently entwine her with neurotic history teacher Chuck Noblet and his secret partner, sensitive art teacher Geoffrey Jellineck.
