After being rejected by Michael, Sydney confides in Jane about her past involvement in prostitution and Michael's plot against Robert. Jane feels guilty for Sydney's troubles and decides to kick Michael out. Meanwhile, Sydney is found not guilty due to a lackluster prosecution. Jo is furious when Reed expresses interest in Amanda as a potential backer for his charter boat business. Jake confronts Reed about his motives regarding both women. Billy receives a promotion but discovers it requires relocating to New York. Matt grows frustrated with his new boyfriend's strange behavior, only to find out he's a closeted Navy officer.
