Michael is compelled to relinquish his stake in the cauterizing glove business to Brett, who threatens to leverage his position as chief-of-staff to sabotage the company. In a cunning move, Brett sends Michael notes on Dr. Shulman's letterhead, prompting unwanted romantic gestures towards her. Peter plays along, leading to Michael losing his title. Meanwhile, Megan's relationship with Brett deepens as he reassures her that he isn't using her to get back at Michael.
