Peter heads to Oakhurst to dig into Eve's history. He encounters Kent's parents and the local sheriff, but an old acquaintance of Eve reveals crucial information about the murder investigation. Meanwhile, Eve searches for Peter, and he stands up for her against the hostile townsfolk. Ryan intercepts a drug shipment meant for Kyle and forces him to flush the pills. Kyle, Eve, and Peter each accuse Amanda of being oppressive, leading her to unexpectedly take Kyle back. Megan hides that a software program has marked Ryan as Lexi's ideal match. When Ryan discovers Megan's secret 800 number, he confronts her about prostitution, only for her to explain Lexi's quest for love. In a shift of roles, temporary chief-of-staff Michael promotes Amy to head nurse, but a deranged nurse claims Michael promised her the position in exchange for sex, resulting in Peter suspending him.
