Episode Overview

Max and the manufacturer Frigh are both heartbroken for different reasons. Max is feeling down after Amanda has given him the cold shoulder following a dispute with Ditmar's mother. Meanwhile, Frigh is pining for the young acting student Kitty Hansen, who has returned to Copenhagen. Their fortunes take a turn when they receive a letter that sparks new optimism. Fie's father has arrived at the homestead, feeling disheartened by his circumstances. Mrs. Andersen steps in to lift his spirits, achieving far more than she anticipated. In the midst of this, the hotel unexpectedly welcomes Prime Minister Thorvald Stauning.
