Episode Overview
Freddie encounters a charming man named Jamal, her former pen pal from prison, who has just finished a seven-year sentence for armed robbery. While feeling anxious, Freddie promises to keep his past hidden. Ron hands over his janitorial job in Whitley’s dorm to Jamal, allowing him to crash on his couch but only compensating him with $2.50 an hour, pocketing the remainder. Jamal hits it off with Whitley, and they arrange a date. He confides in her about his history, and though she hesitates, she decides to support his new beginning for a thrill. However, Freddie accidentally reveals Jamal's background, alarming everyone. Ron investigates Jamal's belongings, and while Dwayne initially judges him, he changes his tune upon learning about Whitley’s interest.
