Meanwhile, Amy welcomes a new clerk whose Spanish-speaking skills prove essential during the sentencing hearing of a teenager accused of burglary and assault. Ignacio shares some sage advice with Vincent regarding Maxine. As Gillian and Peter reflect on the early days of their relationship, they find their connection rekindled. After experiencing a hallucination about her mother's death in the hospital, Maxine decides to leave against her doctor's advice, opting not to go through with the bypass surgery.
